She lived alone for 3 years.

I walk every morning to spend some time with God, and of course to get some good exercise. This morning I came across an old cemetery and decided to explore it. The walk was pleasant and the birds were filling the air with their melody and the air was a comfortable warm. The smell of grass and clean air was pleasing and my senses were hyper aware.  As I approached the entrance I noticed that this cemetery was listed on the Texas Historical Commission and was donated by Grafton Williams. Williams had laid to rest  his wife in 1848.

As I walked between the rows of grave-sites I was amazed at some of the headstones. I stopped at one of the head-markers and as I read it, the story unfolded.
Toy and Lillian Sexton was both born in 1898, married in 1912 (which means they were married at the age of 14) at the time of his death in 1989 they were married 77 years, she lived about 3 and half years past his death at the age of 94. What an amazing story. I wonder if I was ready to be the man of the house at 14 years old. I wonder how long I would have lived past my spouse of 77 years when she died. I love this couple and what an example to us all about staying the course.
